Box
Coming soon
Let your assistants search and read the files and folders in your Box account. Read only, through Box's own hosted connector. Coming soon.
On this page
Box is a place many companies keep contracts, reports, and shared documents. Once you connect it, your assistants can search your files and read them, so an answer starts from the real document.
Which assistants use it#
| Assistant | Status |
|---|---|
| Legal | Coming soon |
| Accountant | Coming soon |
Neither of these personas is open yet. The Coder is the only persona available today, and it does not list Box.
What assistants can do#
Box connects through the tool's own hosted connector, and it is read only.
| Ability | How it runs |
|---|---|
| Search files and folders | Reads on its own |
| Read file contents | Reads on its own |
| Upload, move, or change a file | Never run from chat |
Setup (when it opens)#
- In Box, open the developer console and create an app.
- Generate an access token for the account the assistants should use. Pick an account that can see only the folders you want to share.
- Open Integrations in StellarFirm.
- Pick Box.
- Paste the token, switch on the live option, and press Connect.
Permissions#
- The assistants can read whatever the chosen Box account can read, and nothing else.
- Nothing here waits for an Approve because nothing here changes data. Uploads and edits are never run from chat.
- Revoke the token in Box whenever you want to cut access.
Good to know#
- A dedicated Box account with access to a few folders is safer than your own account.
- Name the file or the folder in your message. Searches work best on a distinctive title.
- Files can be long. Ask for what you need, such as a clause checklist or a list of dates, instead of "summarise everything".
- Sibling tools: Dropbox and Egnyte work the same way.
Prompts to try#
PromptReview a contract Legal, find the latest signed vendor agreement for [vendor] in Box and give me a clause checklist. Read only.
PromptFind a statement Accountant, find the bank statements for [month] in Box and list the totals by account.
PromptLocate a file Search Box for [document name] and tell me which folder it is in and when it was last changed.
